7-4-1: PERMIT REQUIRED:
No person or organization shall conduct, participate in, aid, form or start any parade, march, ceremony, show, exhibition, pageant, open air public meeting, sporting event, organized walk or run, or procession of any kind or any similar display, with more than twelve (12) total intended participants and attendees, in or upon any street, park, or other public place in the village unless a special event permit shall have been obtained from the chief of police not less than sixty (60) days prior to the event, except that this time requirement may be shortened by the village for good cause shown.
Exceptions: This chapter shall not apply to:
- Funeral processions;
- Students going to and from school classes or participating in educational activities, providing such conduct is under the immediate direction and supervision of the proper school authorities, and provided such conduct does not require traffic control;
- A governmental agency acting within the scope of its functions, including, but not limited to, functions sponsored and operated totally within the property of such governmental agency which do not impact the general policy requirements for such event by the village; or
- Any event to be held at the village of Lisle/Benedictine University Sports Complex that has been included in the most current facilities schedule, as required under section 4.3 of the facilities use agreement, by and between the village and Benedictine University, dated February 12, 2004, and on file with the village clerk. 7-4-2: APPLICATION FOR PERMIT; FEES:
A person seeking issuance of a special event permit shall file an application with the chief of police on forms provided by the police department. The fee for a special event permit shall be as established in the annual fee ordinance and must be submitted with the application for a special event permit. (Ord. 2005-3963, 11-7-2005)
The current permit application fee is $25.00.
