Refuse & Yard Waste

Program Overview
The Village of Lisle has contracted with Republic Services to provide residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection services through June 30, 2015. Access the Resident's Refuse and Recycling Guide (PDF) for more information.

Garbage, recycling and yard waste are all collected once a week on Tuesday. Different trucks collect the 3 types of materials, so they are not collected at the same times. Route schedules for trucks may vary weekly.

Curbside Yard Waste Collection Ends December 9, 2014
On Tuesday, December 9, 2014, Republic Services will complete the last curbside yard waste collection until March 2015. Yard waste includes leaves, grass clippings, branches, brush and other organic material. Branches and brush refuse must be bundled, using biodegradable fiber, measuring up to four feet long and 18 inches wide, with one yard waste sticker attached to each bundle. Other yard waste should be placed in approved paper yard waste bags or in a rigid container, no larger than 34 gallons, and clearly marked ‘Yard Waste,’ with one yard waste sticker attached to each container. Yard waste in plastic bags will not be accepted.

Garbage & Yard-Waste Stickers
Residents need to purchase garbage and yard-waste stickers to place on the respective containers and/or bags for collection. Rather than charging a monthly flat fee, the pay-per-bag system encourages recycling and allows residents to only pay for what they throw away.
