Mosquito Abatement & West Nile Virus
Spray Now Scheduled for Wednesday Night
Posted Date: 9/10/2012

Due to the storm that passed through last night, the scheduled spray was postponed to Wednesday, September 5, 2012.

Current dry, hot conditions favor the increase of the West Nile Virus in the area. Click here to review the latest information from the DuPage County Health Department.

September 4, 2012 - The Village of Lisle has now conducted five village-wide sprays by Clarke following the West Nile Virus guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control.

Although the overall mosquito population is down, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of Culex mosquitoes and positive mosquito samples for West Nile virus in our area.  This year’s extreme temperatures coupled with the ongoing drought are the perfect conditions for continued amplification of the virus.

[More Information]

July 13, 2012 - Clarke Mosquito conducted a Village-wide spray on Monday evening, July 16, 2012.

If you would like prior notification of each spray, residents can contact Clarke Mosquito at 800-942-2555 to be added to their automated notification list.

June 27, 2012 - Another spray for the entire Village was conducted on June 27, 2012.

June 9, 2012  - The Village of Lisle's mosquito abatement contractor administered a Village-wide spray Friday evening, June 8, 2012.

May 23, 2012 - The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has confirmed the first West Nile virus positive bird and mosquito batches reported in Illinois for 2012.

The Chicago Department of Public Health employees collected a crow on May 16, which tested positive for West Nile virus. IDPH and DuPage County Health Department environmental health staff collected positive mosquito samples on May 17, 2012 from Lemont and Norridge in Cook County, and Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Lisle, Westmont and Woodridge in DuPage County.
