The Community Development Department personnel serve as staff to the Planning and Zoning Commission and Village Board of Trustees on all development petitions.

The Department oversees all residential and commercial construction, remodeling, and occupancy within the Village, and administers a "Property Maintenance Inspection Program" and an "Apartment Inspection Program" for existing dwellings.

Department staff can answer questions regarding zoning, allowable construction, permits, and the Village Zoning Ordinance. 

Flood plain information and determinations can also be provided upon written request, and flood plain maps may be viewed in the department office.
