1. When will the French Market begin?
The 2013 French Market season will begin May 4 and will run rain or shine every Saturday through October 26. Hours are 8:00 AM - 1 PM. This year will mark the market's seventh year of operation!
2 What is the location of the market?
The French Market will be located on Burlington Avenue in the commuter parking lot just west of Village Hall (925 Burlington Ave) in Downtown Lisle.
3. How does a French Market differ from a Farmer’s Market?
A French Market is a more organized form of a Farmer’s Market and offers a greater variety of merchandise. Of course, you will find fresh cut flowers, plants, fruit and vegetables and freshly baked goods at the market. However you will also find one-of-a-kind items such as jewelry, artwork, crafts, clothing and more.
4. Is there an admission charge or a parking fee?
No, there is no admission charge for the French Market and there is an abundant supply of free parking adjacent to the market.
5. How can I become a vendor at the Lisle French Market? What are the costs?
The 2013 French Market Vendor Application provides vendors with information about the market. Vendor rates vary depending on the month you participate and the products you sell, however the rates range from $31 - $46 per Saturday. Email Paula Gleason, the Market Supervisor, who can answer your immediate questions about the market. You may also contact Paula at 630-222-3403.
6. Do I have to sign up for the entire season?
No, however you can get a discount on your vendor rate should you choose to become a permanent vendor. You may sign up for as many or as few days as you wish as space permits. We can accommodate approximately 40 vendors each week.
7. What does the vendor rate include?
The Village will set up the colorful canopy booth for you, which measures approximately 6½ by 13½ feet. You may reserve more than one booth and discounts are available should you choose to reserve extra booths. Please notify the market manager at the time of registration should you need to use electricity for your product or service. You will need to bring everything else (tables, chairs, your product, etc.) You can drive right up to your booth, unload, and then park your vehicle in the free adjacent parking lots. The Village will dismantle the canopy booths after each market.
9. How can I volunteer at the French Market?
Volunteers are most welcome at the French Market and can assist with answering questions, helping ensure the market runs smoothly and serving as “good will ambassadors.” For more information about volunteering at the Market, email Paula Gleason or contact her by calling 630-222-3403.
