Lisle Mayor Joe Broda
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Village of Lisle, a community that Money Magazine named as one of the Top Twenty "Best Places to Live in America." Lisle is located in the heart of a major transportation network in prosperous DuPage County, just 26 miles west of Chicago.
Known as “The Arboretum Village,” Lisle is home to the internationally acclaimed Morton Arboretum, 1,700 acres of woodlands, wetlands, prairies, lakes and meadows which offer a wonderful escape to nature.
In Lisle, nature serves as a backdrop to many exciting changes that are occuring throughout the community. Downtown Lisle has been transformed into a beautiful nature themed shopping and dining district. PrairieWalk Pond, an award winning 4.5 acre natural area, now serves as a stunning gateway into the Downtown and reflects the Village's sustainable focus.
Lisle's prestigous I-88 Corporate Corridor is home to businesses that value the Village's strategic midwestern location as they reach out to a global marketplace. These businesses include the corporate headquarters of Navistar, SunCoke and Leeco Steel. They join a thriving community of more than 1,000 businesses such as Molex, Unilever and McCain Foods which already call Lisle home. The corridor is also the new home of the 100,000 square foot state-of-the-art DuPage Medical Group's Cancer and Medical Treatment Facility and Universal Technical Insitute's 187,000 square foot state-of-the-industry autmotive training facility.
Lisle is also a great place to live and raise a family. New housing developments provide even more options to satisfy residents' needs. Arbor Trails is a new 20-acre residential development of 162 homes ranging between 2,200 to 3, 900 square feet with generous amenities. Avant at the Arboretum, welcomes new tenants into an amenity-rich building situated on eight acres strategically located along the corporate corridor.
Each year, Lisle attracts more than a million visitors traveling to the community for business or pleasure. Lisle's excellent lodging, dining and recreational options satisfy, resulting in many return visits over the years.
I have been serving the Lisle community for more than two decades - 15 years as a Trustee and in May 2013, I began my fourth term as Mayor. I have come to love this community and the people that live, work and visit Lisle.
"The Arboretum Village," is truly a place for all seasons and I invite you to learn more about this wonderful community by exploring this website and learning why I am proud to call Lisle home.
