Metra commuter trains provide fast, reliable service to Chicago within approximately 36 minutes via express service or within one hour via local trains. The train station is located in Downtown Lisle and is the third busiest stop on the line out of 23 stations with an average daily ridership of 2,600. For added convenience, the Downtown Lisle Train Station offers shelter on either side of the tracks and two pedestrian tunnels which are open 24 hours a day.
Tickets
Metra offers a variety of ticket purchase options – from unlimited monthly ride fares to special weekend passes. Metra tickets can also be purchased in the Downtown Lisle Train Station, 1000 Front Street (630) 968-3916. The station is open to the public weekdays from 5:45 am – 1:30 pm. When an agent is not on duty, tickets can be purchased on the train. The commuter rail system stretches from Wisconsin to Indiana and encompasses DuPage, Cook, Lake, Kane, Will and McHenry counties. With more than 230 stations, Metra offers transportation to select suburbs or to within walking distance of Chicago’s museums, zoos, concerts, parks, shopping areas, sports centers, restaurants and learning institutions.
Long Distance Trains
Connections to long distance Amtrak trains can also be made by traveling to either Chicago’s Union Station or to Lisle’s neighboring community of Naperville.
Commuter Parking
The Village of Lisle offers daily, monthly and quarterly commuter parking permits for the lots adjacent to the rail line or commuters can ride one of the many Pace buses that serve the Downtown Lisle Train Station. Pace service also transports workers to many business districts in Lisle for those who reverse commute to the Village.

Rail Freight Services
Freight services are offered by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (bnsf.com). The nearest piggy back service is 17 miles from Lisle. Container service is 12 miles away and the switching service is offered during rush hours.
