The Village of Lisle GIS now offers two ways to view geographic information:
MAPLE - MAPLE (MAPping Lisle's Environment) allows users access to multple map layers in an easy to use application. MAPLE has a "built-in" map viewer and tools which allow for map data analysis. MAPLE does require Flash software to operate.
DIY GIS - DIY (Do-It-Yourself) GIS is an application more suited to the user that prefers using their own software to view geographic data. Besides GIS Professionals, many other geography "enthusiasts" have made use of internet applications and free software (Google Earth) to view, inform, advertise, and use location based services to communicate with the public. DIY GIS allows for downloading map layers to view in various software for performing geographic analysis. DIY GIS does require Flash software to operate.
