Leaf Pickup Program

The Village of Lisle offers free weekly collection of loose leaves (not bagged) for all single-family homes within the Village of Lisle corporate limits during certain weeks every fall. The 2017 Leaf Pickup Program will run from October 16 through the week of November 13, weather permitting.

2017 Loose Leaf Pickup Program Schedule

The 2017 Loose Leaf Pickup Program will run from October 16, 2017 through the week of November 13, 2017. To take advantage of this convenient service, rake loose leaves (no grass or landscaping) to the parkway as close to the curb as possible by 7 a.m. each Monday morning during this time. Public Works crews will collect the leaves once a week, weather permitting.  If your leaves are not in the front parkway when the crews pass your house, your leaves will not be picked up until the crews return the following week.
During the week of November 13, when the collection equipment has passed your residence and collected your leaves, the Leaf Pickup Program will end for the 2017 Season.

After the week of November 13, place remaining leaves in yard-waste bags or cans and attach a yard-waste sticker. Republic Services, the Village’s waste hauler, will collect yard waste through December 12, 2017.

Leaf Preparation Guidelines

Please adhere to the following guidelines when preparing leaves for pickup:
  • All leaves must be placed in the front parkway by 7 a.m. on Monday morning.
  • Leaves should be loose, not bagged, and placed as close to the edge of the street as possible.
  • Leaves should not be placed on sidewalks, in ditches, or in the street. Where sidewalks abut the curb, the leaves shoud be placed off of the sidewalk and as close to the street as possible.
  • No other materials shall be placed in the leaf pile, including grass, branches, landscape waste, etc.
  • Please do not park cars in front of leaf piles and keep the area in front of the leaf piles clear. If crews can not get to the leaf piles they will not be picked up.
After the crew makes its final rounds through the community, Republic Services, the Village's waste hauler, will pick up leaves and other yard-waste bags if it is bagged.  A "yard-waste sticker" must be affixed to each bag. Do not rake leaves to the curb after the Loose Leaf Collection Program is over as leaves will not be collected after the week of November 13, 2017. The waste hauler will continue to pick up leaves and other yard waste in tagged yard-waste bags through December 12, 2017.
