The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners consists of 3 members, appointed by the Mayor, who each serve a 3-year term.


Overview


The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners conducts and approves the recruitment, process for testing, interviewing, appointment and promotion of all sworn personnel below the rank of Deputy Chief in the Police Department. In addition, the Chief of Police coordinates with the Commissioners on any involvement in disciplinary action invoked on a Sergeant or Deputy Chief in the Police Department.
