Strong demographics make Lisle a desirable location for businesses. In January 2017, a Special Census indicated Lisle's population had increased to 23,440.

The 2010 census had determined Lisle's population to be 22,390, and Nielsen's 2013 research estimates that there are approximately 256,475 people within a 5-mile radius of Downtown Lisle.

This includes 100,878 households with an estimated average household income of $103,973.  The estimated median value of owner-occupied housing is $274,794.

During the day, Lisle's population increases by hundreds of thousands as employees commute to our business districts and visitors travel to our many community treasures, such as the Morton Arboretum, which welcomed more than one million visitors in 2017.

In particular, the I-88 Corporate Corridor is a strong generator of visitors due, in part, to the business headquarters located along the corridor (such as Navistar and SunCoke), three hotels (DoubleTree, Hyatt, Sheraton), the DuPage Medical Group Cancer / Treatment Facility, Choose DuPage and workNet DuPage, UTI (United Technical Institute) and more.
