A
Special Event Permit is required for any of the following:
- Parades
- Marches
- Ceremonies
- Shows
- Exhibitions
- Pageants
- Open Air Public Meetings
- Sporting Events
- Organized Walks or Runs
- Processions of any kind or any similar displays with more than 12 expected participants in any street, park, or other public place in the Village
Special Event Permits must be obtained from the Village no less than 60 days prior to the event. The Village may choose to waive or shorten this requirement.
No Permit Needed
A
Special Event Permit is not needed for the following:
- Funeral Processions
- Students going to and from school classes or participating in educational activities (as long as students are under the immediate direction and supervision of school authorities and provided that no traffic control is needed
- A governmental agency acting within the scope of its functions, including, but not limited to: functions sponsored and operated totally within the property of such governmental agency which does not impact the general policy requirements for such event by the Village; or
- Any event held at the Village of Lisle / Benedictine University Sports Complex that has been included in the most current facilities schedule
Application
A person seeking a Special Event Permit must file a
Special Event Application with the Village Manager's Office. The fee for a Special Event Permit is established in
Title 1, Chapter 20 of the Village Code must be submitted with the Special Event Permit Application.
