New Veterans Memorial in Downtown Lisle

Honor past, present and future veterans and their service to our country by attending the Dedication Ceremony for the new Lisle Veterans Memorial on Friday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at 4721 Center Avenue, Downtown Lisle (southeast corner of School Street and Center Avenue). Free parking at Village Hall and in the commuter parking lots. Guest speakers, musical salutes and A Book of Gratitude and Honor will be available at the Dedication Ceremony.

The Dedication Ceremony marks the successful efforts of Lisle residents Karen/Dan Burris and Kim/Larry Carlson who conducted a kick-off meeting on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 to generate support for a grassroots effort to establish a Veterans Memorial in Downtown Lisle.
On-going fundraising efforts since that time have been successful and included many individual contributions as well as a Home Depot grant. A building permit was issued in early September 2016 and the memorial was constructed at the southeast corner of School Street and Center Avenue at Museums at Lisle Station Park Campus.
