New Veterans Memorial in Downtown Lisle

Honor past, present and future veterans and their service to our country by visiting the Veterans Memorial at 4721 Center Avenue, Downtown Lisle (southeast corner of School Street and Center Avenue). Free parking at Village Hall and in the commuter parking lots.

Creating the memorial was the result of successful efforts of Lisle residents Karen/Dan Burris, Kim/Larry Carlson, Dave/Daphnee Gleason, Jorge Ortiz and Maria Remigio who launched a grassroots effort to build the memorial on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. The memorial was dedicated on Veterans Day, November 11, 2016, a little over a year later.
Mayor Broda recognized the group's efforts by naming them recipients of the 2017 Community Spirit Award, which he announced during the State of the Village Address on Thursday, January 20 at the Hilton Lisle Hotel. Several members of the group were on hand to accept the award.
