Memorial Day
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) Ross Bishop Memorial Post #5696 will present the Village of Lisle Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29, 2023. The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Lisle Junior High School and proceed north on Main Street to School ending at the Lisle Veterans Memorial.
There will be a short Remembrance Ceremony at the Lisle Veteran's Memorial and then a second Ceremony at the Lisle Cemetery.
This special event will honor those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. This event is made possible by the support of VFW Ross Bishop Post #5696, Lisle Park District, Village of Lisle, Lisle Police Department, Lisle Community Unit School District 202, and Lisle Woodridge Fire Protection District.
There will be no access to Main Street during the parade or ceremony. There will be extra handicap parking available at the Bank of America on Center and the Lisle Village Hall.
If you would like to participate in the parade, please send in the participation form. There is no cost to walk in the parade. The deadline for sending in your parade participation form is Monday, May 15th. At the request of the VFW, please be advised that loud noises, candy throwing, distribution of advertising, promotional, political campaign literature, flyers, coupons, brochures, pamphlets & solicitation of any kind will NOT be permitted.
Parade participant Information: If you are participating in the parade, please arrive at the Lisle Junior High no later than 9:30 a.m. on May 29, 2023 to receive your spot and line up. Please use the Chesterton Academy (Schiesher Elementary School) lots for parking and as a drop off location. The Chesterton Academy (Schiesher) Parking lot across from the school has a sidewalk participants can follow to the Jr. High parking lot for parade line up.
Participant drop off information: There will be no drop-off allowed in the Junior High School parking lot, nor will parking in the lot be permitted. This is for the safety of the parade participants.

Street closures will begin at 9:45 a.m. along the parade route (see map below) and will open back up once the ceremony is finished. Check back here on this age for updates regarding the event.
