Public Safety Academy

The Lisle Police Department and the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District have partnered and will conduct a free Public Safety Academy beginning on September 13, 2023. The Public Safety Academy is a program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the Lisle Police Department and Lisle-Woodridge Fire District. It consists of classes, discussions and hands-on demonstrations held each Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to approximately 8:30 p.m. for 10 weeks. Classes are limited to 20 participants who are 16 years old and work or live in Lisle.

Topics that will be covered include:
• Police Department Overview
• Evidence and Crime Scene Processing
• Investigations and Crime Analysis
• DUI and Traffic Enforcement
• Range & Firearms Training
• Fire Department Overview
• Fire Extinguisher Training
• Tour of the Village Emergency Operations Center, and more.

It is hoped that the graduates will become partners with the Lisle Police Department and Lisle-Woodridge Fire District by taking their knowledge back to their neighborhoods, where they can use it to help keep Lisle a safe and welcoming community.
