Document Shredding Event
Saturday, October 24, 2020
The Village of Lisle, in partnership with DuPage County, will host a
Document Destruction Event for DuPage County residents on Saturday, October 24th from 9:00 a.m. to noon in Commuter Parking Lot C, just south of Village Hall.
Papers can be brought to the event in shopping bags or cardboard boxes (please,
no plastic bags). Individuals are limited to three paper shopping bags or two
copier paper sized boxes per vehicle. Paper clips and staples can remain in the
documents, but please remove binders and metal clips. Event staff will help
remove the documents from vehicles and load them into a mobile shredding truck,
where they will be cross-cut shredded onsite, then recycled.
The event will end when the shred truck has met capacity, 12,000 pounds.
Steps are being taken to minimize contact with site staff. Staff will wear masks and gloves and will regularly sanitize their hands. Site staff may refuse service if a participant fails to comply with the rules below:
- County residents will remain in the vehicle when dropping-off documents.
- Residents will unlock/open the trunk from the inside of the vehicle and allow staff to unload the items.
- All paper to be shredded must be in one area of the vehicle.
- If you have had COVID-19 in your household, please wait until symptoms have been gone for at least two weeks before delivering your electronics or cloth to a recycling drop-off event or center.
