Recycle your Old Holiday Lights

Holiday lights being recycled in a bin

Recycle an unlimited amount of old, broken, or unwanted holiday lights by bringing them to Village Hall, located at 925 Burlington Avenue. The collection bin is located in the vestibule, and participants can drop off lights Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. beginning November 1, 2023 through January 31, 2024. Accepted lights include mini-lights (or Italian lights), C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights, and extension cords, all of which are free of charge to recycle. No garlands, wreaths, or outdoor displays containing lights, such as plastic figures or wire structures, will be accepted. This program is made possible through a partnership between the Village and Elgin Recycling. For questions, call (630) 271-4100 or click here.
