Police Officer Records Meteor on Dashboard Camera

Police Badge

While on patrol in the northwest portion of the Village at 1:25 am on February 6, a Lisle Police Officer observed what he thought could be a meteor streak across the night sky and immediately activated his dashboard camera to record the incredible event.

Lisle Officer Jim Dexter offered the following statement after recording the footage on his police squad dashboard camera,  "I was unsure of what exactly just happened and realized that my camera was facing in the correct location so I could capture what just occurred. In this profession, we see so many things that the public doesn't get to see. Sometimes that's good, sometimes that's bad. I'm just glad that in this instance, I was able to capture this for everyone to see.
