The weekly collection of un-bagged leaves from all single-family homes in the Village began in late October and will run for the next two weeks, with the week of Monday, November 26, 2018 being the final week of the program.
Next week (the week of November 19) is a shortened work week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Due to the shortened work week, there is a possibility that leaf crews will not be able to complete their entire route, and some areas will not have their leaves collected next week. However, crews are scheduled to conduct a final collection the week of November 26. Any missed leaves will be collected at that time.
Residents are reminded that leaves must be raked to the parkway as close to the curb as possible by 7:00 a.m. each Monday morning during the remainder of program. To ensure that crews can collect the leaves, please do not park cars on the street in front of leaves. Grass or landscaping debris will NOT be collected.
The Leaf Collection Program schedule is weather-permitting. In the event of a heavy snowfall, the program will end prematurely. Any leaves not picked up will need to be bagged for collection by the Village’s waste hauler, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS). LRS will continue to collect yard waste bags and carts through December 12. For additional questions regarding the Leaf Collection Program, please call Public Works at 630-271-4180.
