Judge Dismisses Annexation Petition

On Wednesday, February 8, DuPage County Circuit Court Judge Paul Fullerton ruled that a binding question (referendum), "Shall the Village of Lisle, IL be annexed into the City of Naperville, IL?" will not appear on the April 4 election ballot. The ruling stated that Lisle petitions were not properly filed in court. Therefore, Judge Fullerton dismissed the annexation petition and did not consider arguments concerning the validity of petition signatures. Similar annexation petitions in Woodridge and Warrenville were also dismissed. The petitions were filed anonymously in the DuPage County Circuit Court on January 3.
