Have You Committed a Misdemeanor?

You have if you have locked an animal in a vehicle that places it in a life or health threatening situation from extreme heat. Even on very pleasant days, the temperature in a car can rise to oven-like conditions in minutes. The Green Trails Animal Clinic relays that on a 90 degree day, the temperature in a locked vehicle can reach as high as 160 degrees in less than 10 minutes. Even on a 78 degree day, the temperature in a car can climb between 100-120 degrees in minutes. Leave pets at home, where they are safe and comfortable. If you see a pet in a vehicle under duress, contact 911 or the local Police Department and an Officer will be dispatched to the scene.
