Flash Flood Watch in Effect,
Overnight Parking Restrictions Suspended

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 4 p.m. Friday, July 21 through Saturday morning, July 22. Thunderstorms producing damaging winds, heavy rain and potential flash flooding are possible. Monitor weather channels for updates or visit weather.gov. During Flash Flood Watches/Warnings, overnight parking restrictions will be suspended. You can choose to move vehicles to higher ground, but please park on north and east sides of streets to allow room for emergency vehicles to pass. Leave your name/contact information on the dashboard so Police can contact you as needed. Review the Flood Watch Parking Map (below) for several parking options during flood events. Garbage, Yard Waste and Recycling Survey

The Village's contract with Republic Services for the collection of garbage, yard waste and recycling expires in June 2018. Please complete an online survey to provide feedback  about your current and future garbage, yard waste and recycling needs which should prove helpful as a new contract is negotiated. Paper copies of the survey are available at Village Hall, Police Station, the Library, Chamber of Commerce Office & Park District Senior Center. To access the online survey, click here.

Moody's Acknowledges Lisle's Strong Financial Position

In its annual report on Lisle, Moody's Investor Services cites the Village's very healthy financial position, economy, tax base and exceptionally low debt.  Moody's gave Lisle an Aa1 rating, which is stronger than the median rating of Aa3 for cities nationwide.  Lisle's per capita value and median family income are also much stronger than the US median. Moody's believes the ability to generate positive operating margins demonstrates strong financial management. To review the full report, click here.

Are You Financially Prepared for an Emergency?

As the recent Lake County flooding demonstrates, emergencies can happen at any time and place. Had the storms shifted farther south, Lisle would most likely have flooded. Be prepared. Besides storing extra food/water/supplies, having adequate insurance, access to important people/pet records and cash/money will help you recover more quickly should a disaster strike. Review FEMA's Emergency Financial First Aid Kit, which helps you organize important documents, medical records, household contracts, valuables, etc. by clicking here.
