Arbor Day Celebration-Plant a Tree!

Arbor Day Celebration

The Arbor Day Foundation recently named Lisle a 2017 Tree City USA and also honored the Village with a Tree City USA Growth Award for demonstrating higher level tree care and environmental improvement. Arbor Day will be celebrated in Lisle on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. next to Chesterbrook Academy, 4622 Lacey Avenue, where a ceremonial tree will be planted along Front Street. A limited supply of tree saplings will be given out to those who attend the ceremony.

Residents are encouraged to plant trees this spring, due to the many benefits that new trees offer for the entire community. These benefits include improved air quality and reduction of storm water runoff. For individuals interested in planting trees who have questions, please contact the Lisle Forestry Department at 630-271-4175. The Morton Arboretum also offers helpful resources and information on how to plant trees.
