New Waste Hauler Information:
What You Need to Know, and Do

Effective July 1, 2018, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) will be the Village’s new refuse, recycling and yard waste hauler. Under the new contract, normal collection days for curbside pickup will change from Tuesdays to Wednesdays; garbage/refuse carts or plastic garbage bags should be put at the curbside by 6:00 a.m. on the day of pickup. Curbside collection by LRS will begin Thursday, July 5th (due to the July 4th holiday). A grace period will be offered for the first two LRS pickups (July 5 and July 11) where stickers issued by current service provider, Republic, can still be used. Additionally, a buy back program for these stickers will be offered between June 18 – July 20 in the Business Office at Village Hall, 925 Burlington Avenue, Lisle, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. A full refund will be provided for all unused stickers during this time period. To be eligible for a refund, stickers must be unused, whole, and have the backing intact. No refunds will be issued after July 20.

Communications from LRS providing additional information about these new services will be arriving at all Lisle residences over the next two weeks. Residents interested in monthly subscription services for 35-, 65-, or 95-gallon carts will need to contact LRS to arrange services and automatic billing. Carts can take up to three weeks to deliver, so residents are encouraged to call 630-581-8650 or email service@LRSrecycles.com as soon as possible. Subscription services are not required; residents can use carts of their own (up to 35-gallon carts) or plastic garbage bags (weighing up to 50 lbs.). LRS garbage/waste stickers can also be used for both garbage/refuse and yard waste. The stickers will be available for purchase at Village Hall and former retailers that sold Republic stickers in the coming weeks. Click here for more information.
