Lakeshore Recycling Sytems

Update on New Village Waste Hauler

The Village’s new waste and recycling hauler, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) has now completed their first two pickups for customers, the first on Thursday, July 5 (due to the July 4 holiday) and the second on Wednesday, July 11. For residents who have ordered subscription services and are still awaiting delivery of their garbage/refuse or recycling carts, plastic bags should be used for garbage/refuse and paper bags or cardboard boxes for recycling. LRS is working as quickly as possible to fulfill these orders, in addition to exchanging cart sizes for residents who requested a different size cart for garbage/refuse or recycling. Requests for a different cart size can be made here. Requests made by August 1, 2018 will be honored free of charge.

Some important reminders include: 1) All items MUST be placed at the curbside by 6:00 a.m. Collection times have changed and will vary, especially during the first couple months of LRS service as routes are adjusted, 2) LRS stickers are available at retailers that can be found here and also can be purchased at Lisle Village Hall, 925 Burlington Avenue, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. LRS stickers can be used for both garbage/refuse and yard waste and cost $3 each, 3) The buyback program for stickers issued by previous waste hauler Republic Services will run now through July 20 at Lisle Village Hall from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.. A full refund will be provided for all unused stickers during this time. To be eligible for a refund, stickers must be unused, whole, and have the backing intact. No refunds will be issued after July 20. If you have questions, please call 630-581-8650 or email Service@LRSrecycles.com. Visit LRSRecycles.com
Water and Sewer Rate Increases

Water and Sewer Rate Increases

Due to increases in the cost to purchase water for distribution from the DuPage Water Commission, the Village of Lisle recently increased water and sewer maintenance rates for Village customers. The increases went into effect for the June 2018 billing period and were the first rate increases since 2015. Commercial customers will begin to see the impact on their July 2018 bills, and residential customers will see them on their August 2018 bills. Water rates increased by 10 cents to $6.60 per 1,000 gallons, and sewer maintenance rates increased by 20 cents per month to $3 per month. For an average household consuming 16,000 gallons of water every two months, the water and sewer rate increases will represent a $2.00 increase on the bi-monthly bill.

Water and sewer rates help to fund capital projects, operations and maintenance of the Village’s water and sewer systems. These increases help to ensure that that water and sewer systems that serve Lisle customers remain operational, sustainable and viable.
