I-355 Ramps Closed

I-355 Ramps at Maple Avenue Closed Through November 26, 2018

The Maple Avenue southbound off-ramp and northbound on-ramp will both be closed through November 26, 2018 due to construction of the 1-355 mainline on Hitchcock Avenue. Hitchcock Avenue will remain open during the entire project; there may be intermittent single lane closures to protect vehicles from work being completed above the street on the overpass. Please click this link to view a detour map.

Leaf Collection Program

Leaf Collection Program Enters
Final Two Weeks

Residents are reminded to rake leaves as close to the curb as possible by 7:00 a.m. this coming Monday for the Village’s Leaf Collection Program, which is scheduled to continue (weather-permitting) for the next two weeks. Next week (the week of November 19, 2018) is a shortened work week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Due to the shorter time frame, there is a possibility that leaf crews will not be able to complete the entire round, and some areas will not have their leaves collected next week. However, crews will do a final collection the week of November 26.  Any missed leaves will be collected at that time.

The Leaf Collection Program schedule is weather-permitting. In the event of a heavy snowfall, the program will end prematurely. Any leaves not picked up will need to be bagged for collection by the Village’s waste hauler, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS).  LRS will continue to collect yard waste bags and carts through December 12. For additional questions regarding the Leaf Collection Program, please call Public Works at 630-271-4180. For more information, click this link

Electronics Recycling

Monthly Electronics Recycling Options

The Village of Lisle, in partnership with DuPage County, offers monthly Electronics Recycling events for Lisle residents. The next event is coming up this coming Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. until noon in Commuter Parking Lot B in downtown Lisle. For a list of acceptable items, please click here.

Lisle residents have an additional option to safely dispose of unwanted electronics. Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS), the Village’s waste hauler, collects electronics during its normal pickup on the first Wednesday of every month. The next collection will occur on Wednesday, December 5. Residents are reminded to have items out by 6:00 a.m. on collection day, and to place electronics separate from refuse, recycling or yard waste in a clear plastic or paper bag, that is clearly marked ‘E-WASTE’. Electronics collection by LRS is a sticker-based program. Please click this link to learn more.
