Customer Service Improvements
at Lisle Village Hall

New for 2019, the Village has made improvements to the front desk and has adjusted Village Hall hours of operation in an effort to provide more efficient and convenient service. The Business Office and Development Service departments have now merged into one Customer Service Center, with new hours of operation from 7:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). This new arrangement will provide a centralized point for permitting, licensing, payment processing, general information, and referrals. New Child Car Seat and Restraint Laws in Effect for 2019

The Illinois Child Passenger Protection Act went into effect on January 1, 2019. The new law changes safety restraint requirements for children traveling in vehicles and takes into account their age, size, and other factors. Now, children under two (2) years of age must ride in a rear-facing safety seat, while children under the age of eight (8) must be secured in an age appropriate child restraint system. An appropriate child restraint system is one that fits the child and the vehicle, and follows the manufacturer’s guidelines. Every individual who is transporting a child or children under the age of eight (8) years of age is responsible for properly securing them in a vehicle. Certain exemptions do apply for children who weigh more than 40 pounds and are taller than 40 inches. For violators, a first offense will be $75, and the second and each subsequent violation will cost $200. Please visit the Illinois Secretary of State website for additional information.
