2018 Community Recognition Award Winners

Three individuals were presented with the Community Recognition Award by Mayor Chris Pecak during the State of the Village presentation on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Lisle Village Hall. 

The recipients included Paula Garcia, who was recognized for her efforts in managing the Lisle Food Pantry, in addition to Gail Clark for her involvement as a key volunteer for the food pantry. Don Smith was also recognized for volunteering his time at the American Legion Post 5696, for his work on the Downtown Lisle Car Shows, as well as his efforts to beautify Lake St. Benedict on the Benedictine University Campus. Candidates Sought for Open
Village Clerk Position

The Village of Lisle is currently seeking residents that are interested in filling the vacancy for Village Clerk due to the recent resignation of former Village Clerk Brondyke. The Village Clerk is the official keeper of the corporate seal and responsible for the official records belonging to the Village. Duties of the position include attending all meetings of the corporate authorities, calling the roll, signing Village documents, keeping minutes of meetings, and administering Oaths of Office for Village officials. As the local election authority, the clerk has various duties in the municipal election process. The Clerk does not vote during board meetings and is not a policy-making member of the Village Board. Electronics Recycling

Lisle Residents Have Two
E-Recycling Options in February

Lisle residents also have a monthly option to dispose of electronic waste,(also known as E-WASTE)  during the first Wednesday refuse pickup by the Village's waste hauler, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS). Residents should put out electronics separate from refuse in clear plastic or paper bags, clearly marked E-WASTE by 6:00 a.m. this coming Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Due to heavy snow on January 19, 2019, the monthly electronics recycling in January was canceled. The next monthly e-recycling event will be held on Saturday, February 16 from 8:00 a.m. until noon at Village Hall, in the downtown Lisle Commuter Parking Lot B, located at 925 Burlington Avenue in Lisle. Take Precautions During
Dangerously Cold Weather

The Village of Lisle and the surrounding areas have experienced dangerously cold temperatures and heavy snowfall, with record-breaking wind chills over the last week. Residents are reminded to take all precautions possible to guard against over exertion while shoveling snow, and to take steps to prevent frostbite and hypothermia. Residents are also encouraged to check on elderly and disabled neighbors and other persons who live alone to ensure their well-being.
