1. When is garbage pickup day?

The pickup day for the entire Village is Wednesdays. 

2. Unincorporated Lisle residents:

Services for unincorporated residents will not change due to the Village of Lisle’s new service provider. Unincorporated residents are advised to contact their current waste hauling service provider if they have questions.

3. What is the cost of refuse and yard waste stickers?

The cost is $3.16 per sticker. Stickers can be used for either refuse or yard waste. 

4. Do I need different stickers for refuse and yard waste?

No. The same sticker can be used for both refuse and for yard waste pickups. Recycling services are also provided, free of charge (more information on recycling services below).

6. What are the monthly cart program costs for Lakeshore Recycling Systems?

•35-gallon waste cart ($19.15/month)

7. What does the subscription service include?

Subscription service with LRS offers three options; all include a waste container, either a 35-gallon, 65-gallon or 95-gallon container that are picked up weekly on Wednesdays (unless a holiday falls on a Wednesday, then service pickups will be on Thursdays). No stickers are needed if all items to be picked up fit in the container. If additional bags (plastic garbage bags) need to be put out for pickup, stickers are needed for each additional bag to be picked up.

8. What if I don’t have the subscription service and I want to dispose of garbage in a container that I purchased?

The size limit for resident-owned containers is a maximum of 35 gallons (which normally holds two full garbage bags). A sticker must be affixed to the container for it to be picked up. Additional bags of garbage can also be left out; one sticker is required to be affixed to each additional bag.

9. Is there a cost for recycling or recycling carts?

No. Recycling carts and services continue to be provided to Lisle residents free of charge. All Lisle residents with an individual driveway (single-family) will have a 65-gallon recycling cart delivered to their homes. A 35-gallon recycling cart will be provided to multi-family complexes.

10. What if I have larger items to dispose of, such as a couch, mattress or appliances?

LRS will pick up these items, but they will require stickers. Individual pieces of furniture require five (5) stickers each, and any appliances will require ten (10) stickers each. For more information and for questions, please contact LRS at 630-581-8650 or visit their website.  

11. Seasonal Yard Waste Subscription

Please contact LRS at 630-581-8650 or email Service@LRSrecycles.com to sign up for Seasonal Yard Waste services, which runs from the third week in March through the second week in December each year. This program includes recycling of food scrap materials.

The Seasonal Yard Waste subscription costs for LRS are:

65-gallon cart (yard waste and food scrap materials)    $125.00 per season

95-gallon cart (yard waste and food scrap materials)   $150.00 per season
